• He was a member of the Echizen Sanninshu (Echizen Triumvir) along with Sassa Narimasa and Fuwa Mitsuharu.
• Toshiie's childhood name was 'Inuchiyo' (犬千代), and he was called 'Inu' (犬, 'dog') by Oda Nobunaga.
